Janathon 2015: Day 28 (and smoothies)

It's really windy today, like 14 mph windy, coming out of the south. Yesterday was nothing compared to this.  And I'm tired today, which doesn't help. 

So I did two miles, with a short walk at the end for the dog's benefit. The temperature is above freezing, but that wind made for a pretty chilly run.

I finally bought some beets and added one to my smoothie today! I have to say, the color is much improved. I was afraid it would turn brown from the combination of red and green, but the beet coloring is way stronger. Not that the color should matter, but it does, a little. 

Yesterday, I meant to take the second half of my smoothie with me to work, but I forgot it, and Eric drank it when he got home. So he made me another one before we went to bed, which was nice. I needed the other half of that smoothie to make my vegetable and fruit quota for the day. :)

So far, so good with the smoothies. I don't expect anything life-changing to happen this week, but over time, I think it will make a difference. I wasn't getting enough before and until Dan brought smoothies to my attention, I didn't have any idea what to do about it. Thanks, Dan!

I'm going to try to come up with an average cost for these smoothies. I haven't been keeping my receipts, but I will start next time I go to the grocery store. I've still got the SNAP Challenge on my mind.
